With over 33 years of legal experience in almost every corner of the State of Florida, Frank de la Grana brings it when it comes to challenging court cases. With cases ranging from first-degree murder, violent crime, drug trafficking, and racketeering offenses to obscenity, sex offenses as well as DUI cases.

Mr. de la Grana has a sterling reputation among defense attorneys and the entire legal criminal defense community throughout Florida, and with former clients and opposing prosecution teams, as well.

A native of Tampa, Florida, Frank attended the Jesuit High School in Tampa. Upon graduation, he went on to attend Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama and went to law school at South Texas College of Law in Houston.

During high school and college, Mr. de la Grana worked at the Hillsborough County State Attorney’s Office, and upon graduating from law school in 1978, he took a position as an Assistant State Attorney for the 13th Judicial Court.

In 1980, Mr. de la Grana left the State Attorney’s Office to pursue a career in private practice that would focus on criminal defense. This decision laid the foundation that led to the creation of the de la Grana Boardman, P.A.

Frank de la Grana has practiced law in the State of Florida since 1978. He has also practiced law pro hac vice in Louisiana, Illinois, Texas, Arkansas, and North Carolina. In addition, Mr. de la Grana has the distinction of trying cases in Florida’s Federal Northern, Middle, and Southern District Courts. He has also tried cases in the following Federal Courts: the Southern District of Alabama, the Northern District of Pennsylvania as well as the Southern District of Texas.

Community Involvement

In his local community, Frank has remained very active to make a difference in the Tampa Bay area. He was not only an original charter board member of the Gasparilla District Classic but also a board member and past president of the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, Frank was a board member of the Rotary Club of Ybor City, a former member of the Krewe of Knights Sant’ Yago, and board member and former president of Make-a-Wish Foundation.

Frank has received numerous awards of distinction over the years, from the Award of Achievement from the Make-a-Wish Foundation, The Adela and Ceasar Gonzmart Award from the Ybor City Chamber of Commerce to the Victor DiMaio Award of Achievement from the Ybor City Lions Club, which is presented to individuals who excel in promoting and enhancing the unique cultural aspects of the fabled Ybor City area.
